São Miguel do Gostoso, a small village, but a big discover. It was because of those random twists of life that we found this place that we know call home, after 2 years globe trotting around the world we decided that São Miguel do Gostoso was going to be the place where our dream would become true. During that time we hardly stopped in the same place for more then 3 days, it really had to be special, and São Miguel do Gostoso was like this; we decided to stay for a week, then 2 and quickly a month was over.
The quiet and slow village with its calm sea got us and we decided our life was going to be “Gostoso”.
My 5-year old daughter and I enjoyed the 1-week stay in the Pousada Ilha do Vento very much. The rooms are beautifully designed and the garden is full of blossom – just wonderful. the breakfast was allways good and plenty and the coffee was perfect – you could taste the Italian influence there. – KLAUS – Germany

If you’re going to Sao Miguel, this is your pousada. Lovely hosts, beautiful grounds, great breakfasts. And a swimming pool. It’s hard leaving the hammocks, its so special.
The owners are laid back, multilingual and really friendly and will help you with anything you need to know about the town, beaches – or anything else, for that matter. You really get the impression that they do this because they want to – and they seem to really enjoy it. Nothing is too much trouble. The extended beaches of São Miguel do Gostoso, clean and deserted for long walks without anyone anoying you and trying to sell you something. Here there are no beach stalls only some small restaurants next to the beach.
Perfect conditions for Windsurf and Kitesurf makes São Miguel do Gostoso the point of reference in Brasil and the world.
The most important is not being in a rush, it doesn´t exist here, and when the sun is shining there will always be a bench under the shade of a tree to stop and chat with a friendly local.
Like one of our customers said, the friend Rafael, telling his experience about a trip: “It´s like discovering Brasil again. One beach after the other until getting to Galinhos in a village even smaller where all the roads are pure sand and the taxi is donkey.”.
